The SEM consultant or SEM manager is an expert in SEM techniques, an English acronym for Search Engine Marketing, that is to say, sponsoring a web page through paid advertising, so that it appears at the top of the results on the search engine.
The SEM consultant then deals with giving visibility in search engines, to the web pages for which he works, through advertising actions with paid campaigns.
Campaigns that use a SEM consultant are:
- pay per click;
- CPM average cost per impression;
- CPA (cost per share);
- remarketing.
SEM consultant participates in an auction in which to buy the keywords specific to the web for which he works, to get in among the first results in the search engine, and pay for each click that the web page receives, until end of the budget set. He studies what the possible future clients are, he knows the product he sells well, he makes an analysis of the competition, he segments the clientele he addresses to and optimizes the results. He also follows users who have passed through the web through targeted advertising, using two important tools: Google Adwords and Facebook ADS, but other social networks can also be used. The goal of a SEM consultant is to increase the number of visitors to the web, which can turn into future customers.
