MOOCs (Massive Open Online Courses) are online free courses, which allow users to expand on a subject. At the end of the courses you can obtain a certificate of attendance, but the most important aspect is to gain more knowledge and skills that enhance, or sometimes fill, gaps in education or profession.
Furthermore, if you are enrolled in one or more social networks, such as LinkedIn (read also The most used social networks to find job), adding MOOCs courses in personal profile, allows you to update your CV and demonstrate to recruiters that you are interested in your job field and you are willing to renew your own knowledge. Autonomy and proactivity are qualities that companies appreciate so much.
The MOOCs have no limit in registrations. Once you have subscribed, you have access to the material that the teachers provide students: videos, files and tests. In addition to this, you can join to the forum where you can communicate with other users, including the professors, to expose your doubts, to ask questions, or to ask for more explications about the topics.
The courses are usually free, some require payment of a fee if you want to receive an official certificate of attendance and completing the course.
